Christine Phillips

Christine Phillips (OA) is Professor and leader of the Social Foundations of Medicine group in the ANU Medical School. She is a general practitioner and health services researcher with over 25 years of clinical experience, and serves as Medical Director of Companion House Medical Service, the Australian Capital Territory’s refugee health care service. She co-founded the Refugee Health Network of Australia in 2009. A Member of the Order of Australia, she has received numerous awards for teaching, community outreach, and her significant contributions to refugee and migrant health. In 2021, she led the development of World Health Organization competency standards for health workers assisting refugees and migrants.
