Matthew Cunneen
Matthew Cunneen is a PhD candidate at the National Centre of Biography in the School of History, College of Arts and Social Sciences, Australian National University. His research interests are principally in Australian convict history, family history, and biography. He has been employed as a research editor for the Australian Dictionary Biography, as well as co-edited Number 4 of the ANU Historical Journal II (forthcoming) and a special issue, Number 7, of the Australian Journal of Biography and History titled 'Convict Lives'. In the latter, he published a co-authored article with Malcolm Allbrook on the historiography of convict biography and his own article on collective biography and people of colour in Australian convict history. In his convict history research, Matt is interested in investigating questions of mobility and migration, and in applying methodologies of demography to historical populations.
