Matthew Zagor
Matthew Zagor is an Associate Professor in the School of Law at The Australian National University. He has 20 years’ experience as a human rights and refugee advocate, practitioner and scholar, conducting transdisciplinary research, exploring topics such as comparative constitutional law, refugee narrative identities, and the ‘humanity’ turn in international law. His current work examines the political theology of border construction, refugee resettlement, and Australia’s judicial stance on human rights obligations. Matthew's research dissects how liberal concepts shape refugee-related legal and political frameworks.
