Matt Withers is a Senior Lecturer in Sociology within the ANU College of Arts and Social Sciences. His book, Sri Lanka’s Remittance Economy, explores the limitations of remittances for development. His ongoing work investigates the gendered care aspects of transnational family separation within the migration-development discourse, focusing on the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) scheme.
