Dr Eve Lester

Eve Lester is an Australian Research Council DECRA Fellow at ANU College of Law. She has over 30 years of experience as a public and international lawyer, specializing in the rights of forcibly displaced individuals and human rights. She founded Boniĝi to improve human rights monitoring in immigration detention and closed environments. Eve has worked with non-governmental and inter-governmental organizations and advised governments. Her book, Making Migration Law: The Foreigner, Sovereignty and the Case of Australia, was published in 2018, and she is currently writing a second book on Cambodian 'boat people.'
